MIL’s birthday
We went to KL to visit my husband’s mother last weekend. We had dinner at Jade Vegetarian.
Pineapple cheesecake. It’s quite nice and different from the usual cakes I’d eaten. My only complain was that the layer of cheese with pineapple in between the nomal cake was too little.
Stir-fry monkey head mushrooms. Just ok.
Tofu with mock minced meat. Very nice! Soft tofu with salty mock meat. Yums!!
Fried brinjal. Not nice at all. Not crispy. And I dislike peanuts.
Mock sharks fin soup. Yummy! And it’s only RM8 per bowl.
Noodles with sweet and sour sauce. Not bad.
Preserved green mango.
Spring Garden KLCC
Had dim sum for lunch several hours after my breakfast at KL Traders hotel. Here’s the vegetarian stuff we had.
Flowing custard bun。Delicious!!! Will surely order this again when I go to KL.
My favourite dish – Deep fried yam ring.
My lunchbox 2
Sigh…. it was so bad and disgusting that I abandoned it in the fridge today. After describing to my friend how I actually stir-fried the beansprouts, I found out that I did all the steps that I shouldn’t have made.
- I used a slow fire to cook them.
- I put in the seasoning before I add the veggies.
- I added water when I thought that the beansprouts won’t cook without water.
- I stirred the beansprouts so long that their juices came out.
- I thought I can dry up the water inside by cooking it more so that the water could evaporate.
So, in the end, my stir-fry beansprouts became soft and soggy! Imagine how disgusting it was!
I received some useful tips from my friend that I should:
- Cook them in high heat.
- Add seasoning last.
- Don’t pour water but I can sprinkle some onto the veggies.
- Stir quickly and don’t cook them too long.
- If I follow Step no. 3, I won’t have to do Step. 5 in the first place! haha..
I’ll be cooking pasta with tomato sauce instead tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed.
