Veggiebun’s Food Trail

Food, food, and more food…

Ikea

Have been to Ikea quite a number of times recently so these are what I’ve eaten during my visits there.

I’ve forgotten what that luminous green thing is called but just want to comment that it’s really too sweet.

As always, the vegetarian spaghetti and Daim cake again. Hahaha… I also tried the lemon jelly which my colleague recommended and was quite disappointed with it because I don’t really like soft jellies. I prefer konnyaku type of jellies. :P

By the way, I just found out from Ikea’s website that there’s quite a few items that we can order when I was trying to find out the name of the green colored roll on the first picture. Click here for the vegetarian menu.

That luminous green roll thing is called “Punschrullar”- which is an “Arrack flavour sponge wrapped in a chocolate and almond flavour coating” — one for marzipan lovers!! (unfortunately I’m not all that keen on it either)

Sorry I am not VB, but hah snice she havent reply i reply for her lo… hehe from the website they say yes. But I guess u can try asking the waitres to omit the onion.

Their dishes are so packed with mock meat VB! I am having a fear of mock meat after a day of eating all my three meals out, I think the vegetarian scene of Sg shld change a little :) u like mock meat?

Anony,
Yeah, I think they have both but the amount of garlic used wasn’t a lot so I didn’t really “feel” it. And no, you cannot ask them to omit the garlics and onions. The tomato sauce are already cooked in big containers and they will just scoop the sauce onto your spaghetti. Ikea (fast food) restaurants sell food cooked in huge amount, not cooking individual orders.

Dreamy,
I am tired of all those “ready” mock meat too (as in those we can find easily from vegetarian supplies). But I still like those different mock meats from Mai Zhi Su. Hahaha.. I think they use mock meat made by themselves or from a different brand. Their “cod fish” is similar to the type used in Grand Court Vegetarian. Even their “prawns”, “pork slices” are different from those used in hawker/foodcourt stalls.

Hmmm u are right maybe they make themselves or get from their own supplier…
