Again.. at my favorite restaurant…

the Mai Zhi Su of course. ;)

These are from MZS (Bukit Batok). The photos are taken on three occassions but since I have already posted photos of some of the dishes, I’m only posting new dishes here.

Kung Po “prawn”. Looks great and taste excellent! It’s so fragrant and there’s really a big difference when the dried chili is used. (I once tried cooking Kung Po veggies with the Lee Kum Kee sauce and it tasted flat.) I love this dish so much that I have already eaten this twice in less than a week. Hehehee….

Teochew steamed “fish”. Lovely… very similar to the steamed fish from the Grand Court Vegetarian restaurant. I love the soup..slurrrp…

“Pork knuckles” with vinegar. Sorry for the blurry photo. I hope you can still see the fat layer on the mock meat. Really similar. I think the soup is too sour and would prefer that some brown sugar is added in. But then again, I am someone who love sweet Indian curry. Hahaha…

Haha.. I know I have already posted this Claypot Tofu dish before but since Crystal mentioned that she ordered the wrong dish, I decided to post about it again. And, I can tempt JL to come visit me in SG… haha…

P/S: Actually we also ordered the Curry “fish head” but I couldn’t photograph it since my phone’s battery was flat.

Mai Zhi Su (BB)

San Bei Ji. I find the mock chiken meat used it not so nice. So, I don’t really like this dish.

Luo Han Zhai. Very nice because the vegetables are stir-fried lightly. (*note to myself, I must cook this way too*)

Bali Thai

Vegetarian tom yam. Really sourrrrr…….

Vegetarian Thai green curry. This is my favourite, I have to order this dish every time I go to a Thai restaurant. Yummmmmm…

Vegetarian Health Food

Hehe.. I have gone back to VHF last weekend as I missed the Asam Fish. But, coincidentally, it is the first day of the 10th lunar month so they only sell mixed rice.

The “bak kien” is very nice because the texture is so much nicer than those made from yam.

Hehe.. My favourite “char siew” and black soya sauce fried mock meat. YUMMY!~~

Yuan Yang rice

I ordered Yuan Yang rice from the Mai Zhi Su (Bukit Batok) last week and was quite surprised that it really has two type of rice (normal white rice and brown rice) in a plate. The gravy for the brown rice is saltish while the red colored sauce is sourish. Although the white stuff in the brown rice gravy looks like vomit, it tasted really good and the texture is similar to crab meat. Hahaha… And the red sauce is actually the sweet and sour type, with mock meat. I like both sides but couldn’t finish the whole plate as there are two much rice.
